Community Events & Social Gatherings
Location: In-person and Virtual
Community events are larger all network gatherings that focus on social cohesion and connection between clients, volunteers, staff & community members. AsylumWorks seeks a wide range of volunteers to assist in implementing our community events throughout the year! Opportunities include but are not limited to event prep, set-up and take down support, logistical/transportation support, greeting and directing clients, organizing kids tables/activities, fundraising, and other tasks.
Community Support Groups
Location: In-person - Monthly commitment
Our community support groups foster a safe space for clients and community members to gather and engage with the DMV community. Volunteers who liked to share space and offer connections with community members in a smaller group setting are welcomed.
Volunteer Interpretation & Translation
Location: In-person and Virtual
Interpretation and translation opportunities are valuable ways to practice and hone your language skills while helping clients. If you are multilingual and interested, please indicate the languages you know on the Volunteer form. A short additional training is required for this opportunity.
Career Development & Employment Program
Location: In-person and Virtual
Are you interested in teaching clients' basic Digital Literacy, supporting clients as a career coach, or mentoring clients as they transition to their desired career? The Career Development & Employment Program needs you!
Supply Deliveries
Location: In-person - Regular Commitment
Are you willing to assist AsylumWorks with supply pick-ups and drop-offs of donated goods, technology for clients, or supplies for community events? Pick-up and drop-off locations are DMV specific. Access to personal transportation is highly encouraged for this opportunity.
Donate Goods
Location: In-person and Virtual
Help provide clients with basic material goods such as toiletries, feminine hygiene products, diapers, non-perishable foods, and toys. All toiletry items must be new; toys are accepted as very gently used or new. For a full list of suggested items, please complete the Volunteer form, and a staff member will be in contact.
Client Rideshare
Location: In-person
Do you have a car? Are you willing to pick up clients to join us at community events or for legal/intake appointments? If so, this opportunity is right for you! Please note that auto insurance and signing a transportation waiver is required.
Administrative Support
Location: In-person and Virtual
Are you detail oriented and interested in supporting the administrative responsibilities of a non-profit? Do you have experience reviewing outward facing materials? We have a variety of organizational needs where you could make a difference!
